“Sorry for the small amount of oyakodon”
Visited the store on October 29th at 13:40. Ordered 950 yen for the specialty Oyakodon. You can also add chicken soup for an additional 50 yen. It is good to use a lot of eggs, but there is little meat and the overall volume is also small. This is 950 yen. The customer service is also impoverished a...nd negative.

“Unfriendly towards foreigners”
We went to the shop at late night to tried the famous Oyakodon, when we ordered Oyakodon, the staff changed their expression and attitude towards us, later we found out that at night, people are supposed to drink sake and eat yakitori as they are more of a bar than a Oyakodon shop. We feel that they... are very racist and unfriendly towards foreigners like us as we are not following their 'shop rules' of eating yakitori and drinking sake.

“Unfriendly experience as a foreign tourist”
I felt that the shop is overall not too welcoming for foreign tourist. My friends and I visited the shop at about dinner hour for oyakodon. As we were ordering oyakodon ala-carte (from the Japanese menu displayed on the table), we were handed an English menu by their staff and they insisted that t...hey only serve oyakodon sets instead of ala-carte based on the English menu. The pricing of the set meal from the English menu was almost double of the ala-carte and similar pricing cannot be found on the local menu. We were served one small slice of pumpkin, handful of chicken slices and a small plate of salad as appetiser from the set meal, which was relatively disappointing considering the price charged. Besides, the staff were also rather unfriendly towards us. They were mostly showing us an expression of dismay from the moment we entered the shop until the moment we paid our bill. The oyakodon was relatively good, but not a place I would like to revist.

I tried Hashidaya for lunch a couple years ago and had their oyakodon and chicken nanban sets. They were delicious and great value, and now that I’m back in Tokyo again I wanted to revisit. My boyfriend and I were unaware that during dinner hours, the restaurant is very much a bar environment and no...t a nice place for a casual dinner. The expectation is that you drink and nibble and drink some more. When we tried to order the oyakodon, the waiter scoffed and told us it wasn’t available during dinner hours, then he walked away. The chicken nanban didn’t come in a set so we ordered the rice and soup separately. We also ordered other items from the dinner menu and got a drink each as they requested. Despite all this, we were made to feel very unwelcome probably because we weren’t there to drink ourselves silly and thus weren’t going to spend a huge amount. Sitting at the bar, it’s not hard to notice the staff exchanging looks and saying things about us even if it’s in another language. Turns out the chicken nanban wasn’t as good as I remembered and we should’ve just gone elsewhere. I just wish they had been more kind to a couple of tourists who just wanted to enjoy some fried chicken.
