Went for lunch without knowing its ranking. Excellent soba, local clientele which emphasizes its quality. Excellent value. Will be going back to explore the menu better

“Good traditional Okinawan food in a low key setting.”
This place can't be beat if you want a nice bowl of Okinawan soba. I have been several times and it has always been delicious.

“Solid Okinawan Food Menu!”
If you're looking for a solid local spot to grab Okinawan soba or a set meal, Umichika is a great option. This is our safe-bet if we're hungry and are around the Okinawan convention center area. This place tends to get packed during peak lunch hours, so you might be better off eating here in the l...ate afternoon, to avoid the rush. Unique menu options are the ketchup/salt yakisoba (topped with fried egg), tofu/beef, and ginger pork (lots of ginger!). If I'm in the mood for soba, my default is the extra leek/green onion soba, which packs a great punch! Definitely try this spot out for real Okinawan food.

“Big hole-in-the-wall”
This place was teeming with customers when we visited at lunch time. There are 3 separate dining areas: tatami, inside seating & patio seating. Soba is their specialty but there are other yummy items on the menu. Menu has pictures for non-Japanese customers. Plenty of parking. A definite place to re...-visit. Popular among gaijin as well.

“My first dinner in okinawa”
When I saw the review about Umichika Shokudo, I decideed this restaurant. Although I felt little bit salty, but I had a great dinner. It will be nerver difficult to choose meal because menu is full of photos.
