“Best Beef I've Ever Tasted”
On a trip home from Jakarta to Calgary I stopped overnight in Tokyo and the concierge at my hotel recommended the Elysian. I owe her, big time! Listen, I've had a lot of good beef in my time - I've spent a lot of time in Argentina, had corn-fed western Nebraska steak and live in Alberta where we r...aise some great beef cattle. I'd even had Wagyu beef a couple times (and not really been impressed). But this was off-the-scale tremendous. I ordered from the a la carte menu. The beef came with a tray of dipping au jus, wasabi and coarse salt/pepper, all of which I used. I think my eyes popped out of my head with the first bite. Like nothing I'd ever tasted before. It feels as though it is melting in your mouth, it's that tender. The salad was good, the chocolate cake with very rich whipping cream was great. But the steak was other-worldly. Are all the Teppanyaki restaurants in Tokyo this good? I don't know, but I'd give this one ten stars out of five. The price was about $Cdn150.00 (without liquor) and having spent only one day in Tokyo, I don't know how that compares, but for a special one-off once-in-a-lifetime meal, it was worth it.

“Traditional tenpanyaki house”
We found this place by chance. We wanted to go to the Brazilian buffet restaurant nearby and it was full. As we walked further we found thus restaurant, it is on the b2 floor, same building as the Alice in wonderland restaurant (taiyo building 8-8-5 ginza). When we arrived there was only another c...ouple in the place. The menu was in English, and was simple. The chef cook the steak Infront of you. The grill is perfectly shining and clean, considering the place is abt 20 years old. The steak size is small but was cooked to perfection. It was really juicy. What a delightful find. Would definitely come here again. Relaxing atmosphere, and no reservation needed. We went there on a Saturday lunchtime. Please note the restaurant is close on a Sunday.

“Great value with Groupon”
Purchased an 8-course wagyu steak + seafood Groupon for JPY 8,000 (originally priced at JPY 16,000) as a finale dinner for my recent trip to Tokyo last July, 2014. While the restaurant is showing its age and is in need of a renovation, the food quality, and service remains top notch. The teppanyaki... grill in spite of being over 20 years old has a shine that looks brand new indicating strong attention to workplace cleanliness. Every course was prepared with utmost care and with the highest quality ingredients. Would very much recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable Japanese steak experience.

“Great Traditional Teppanyaki Steak House”
This restaurant is one of hundreds (maybe thousands) along the brightly lit streets of the Ginza area of Tokyo. We were in the mood for grilled food and stopped here spontaneously. This small, below-street-level restaurant produced a wonderful meal. We had the steak and abalone set menu, prepar...ed with friendly explanations by our elderly japanese chef. Wonderful misu soup too, the best I've had in Japan. As with everything in Tokyo, the meal was quite expensive but we felt well worth it. We will come back again.
