Sukiyaki is the best from this restaurant, the marble meat were excellent, and the service was top notch. As we expected the price was quite expensive, but the experience was priceless.

“Sukiyaki at its best”
When in Tokyo you need to have at least one Sukiyaki meal and Imahan is the best. From experience when in Tokyo there is no need to go for “Top” or “premium “ quality beef. The entry level “high” quality is better than most beef you will find outside of Japan. They cook the meal for you at the table... with a perfect pace, not too quick and you never have to wait long. All I can say is that when the first mouthful of beef dipped in raw egg hits your taste palette, it’s pure heaven.

“Good but expensive”
Imahan is known for their sukiyaki. There are many courses (appetizers, misoshiru, rice, dessert) and depending on what you order (type of meat) starts from $100 and up. The server cooks the vegetables and meat (2-3 slices per person) at the table and serves you. If you’ve been to Japan, this serv...ice would be considered normal. On my previous visit at a different location the service was more attentive. Didn’t help when the server dropped the whole tray after clearing the tableware. As in Japan, she profusely apologized, then came the head waitress (for no better word) and finally the manager of the store. My friend who went to the restroom shortly thereafter said the server was in tears. So for the three of us was about $450. Food and atmosphere was excellent. Service was respectable not great by Japanese standard (service in Japan would what you would expect from top tier American restaurants). My friends wife though was truly impressed. She had only gone there for lunch (in Japan, having lunch is relatively reasonable compared than dinner at these expensive restaurants) before. Probably would go back for special occasions.

“Fantastic Sukiyaki dish”
There’s this dish that I tried that was amazing. It’s like pre-made sukiyaki but in a bento box. We came during lunch. One of the best meals I’ve had in Tokyo

Imahan is an institution and it never disappoints. Yes it's not cheap but when you're served top notch beef prepared with great care at uncompromising standards - it's an unforgettable experience.
