“Terribly disappointing. Bad Sushi in Tokyo. Didn't think it possible.”
I should have paid more attention when I walked in. It did not look like a nice place, from the lighting in the staircase, to the older signage. But it was Ginza! and Tokyo, and in my experience, the best sushi in the US was sort of average sushi in Tokyo. Did I ever learn a lesson. If the pl...ace looks sketchy, just say no. It was actually terrible. The uni I actually took some pieces out of the little nori boat because it looked bad, and what was left didn't taste very good at all. Just don't know what to say, but there are dozens of places that deserve the name Ginza, and many that deserve the name "Tsukiji". This place is neither. Don't go here. It's simply awful.

“Disappointment in a fancy neighborhood”
We had just arrived for a business school class reunion to Japan from all around the world and a small group of us wanted to have a sushi lunch before the program starts. But this joint was a disappointment. We should have turned away, knowing that fresh fish doesn't smell...

“My last breakfast in Tokyo”
I was looking for a good sushi place that opens for breakfast and surprise surprise, not many shops open early... not until 10am that most shops are opened. I did a quick search and found out that Tsukiji Sushi Sen opens for 24 hours which was perfect! My wife and I arrived early and that time ther...e were only 2 staffs working - which was fine because both of us were the only ones there. A short walking distance from Nissan Crossing. We ordered: 1) assorted sashimi platter and was glad that everything was fresh 2) marutake tamago - the best omelette from Tsukiji.. this is a must order and good to eat just like that. 3) boiled salmon soup to warm up the tummy before starting to shop in Ginza Compared to other well known sushi shops out there, this might not be the best but it's good enough should you feel like eating at odd hours where most shops only open for lunch and dinner (close in between hours)... also late night supper.. after all, this shop opens for 24 HOURS!!!

“Very good sushi restaurant”
This is the first sushi meal I tried in Japan. The bow fish tasted amazing and the chef is very friendly. Luckily, I found this restaurant after missing the tuna auction.

The expensive tuna was the best I have ever eaten, coupled with the perfect rice, it just melted. All the meals of the sushi style were excellent. Service was very quick with the single waitress running her feet off. Meals were delivered quickly, and artistically. The only let down was the Tempura, ...batter was doughy and vegetables just cooked - not too good at all, but we were at a sushi place I guess.
