“A Tokyo tradition”
Like takoyaki for Osaka, monjayaki is a traditional local cuisine for Tokyo. This is one of the first monjayaki restaurent in the area. Not a lot of tourists know about monjayaki so you mostly see locals here. This place has a variety of monjayaki recipes, and a good drinks list. We enjoyed the food... very much, although the seats are pretty tight for a tall man. A couple things to note: 1. You can make reservation, but will need to call a day or so ahead. We didn't, but showed up at 5pm for a table of four. We got seated, but the store was packed at 6:30pm on a week night. 2. It is make-your-own food. They provide you the ingredients, and you follow the instructions on the wall to cook monjayaki. It was a lot of fun! 3. Menu is in Japanese with no English, no pictures. You can point to the some pictures on the wall to order.
