This St-Marc is great for window-side seating and people watching along the busy side of Meguro Dori. Good service, a tasty cup of coffee.

“Excellent Coffee and Chocolate Croissants”
If you take this for what it is -- a cafe chain -- it's really great. Each cup of coffee is freshly brewed when you order it, and even the regular coffee has crema on top, like you see on espresso. All day long, they bake chocolate croissants, which are also excellent. The price is low; you can get ...a great cup of coffee and a freshly baked chocolate croissant for less than 500 yen ($5 US). This chain is everywhere, making it easy to get a good, consistent cup of coffee where every you are in Japan. Once you know how to find it, you'll see it everywhere. The real name of the cafe (St. Marc Cafe) is written in katakana (サンマルクカフ）but the sign says "Chococro" and has a picture of a croissant. Highly recommended.

“Run of the mill chain cafe”
This is a large St. Marc's cafe within a few minutes walk down the busy side of Meguro-Dori from JR Meguro Station. But much of the large space is reserved for smokers. The non-smoking area faces the street and is not unpleasant.

“Unmotivated staff and a tad expensive”
The staff didn't seem happy to work there and hardly looked at us, just said what they're supposed to say. We ordered Kakigori with ice cream, and it was tasty, but a bit pricy for what we got compared to other cafes. Very crowded, but fortunately there were two seats available when we got there.
