“Too good to be Hidden!”
I’ve to visit Effe every time I’m back to Tokyo. Location is just 10min. walk from JR Tamachi Station. Owner speaks good English so is his wife? The sommelier - Mami san. They dished out the most Italian amazing wine for pairing. I believe the Italian wine selection is not expensive but boy! the ...taste is amazing. You can’t find the bottles in Japan or Singapore too! I tried! Their Omakase course (4,500 Yen) + Wine pairing (4,800 Yen) per pax. Price is reasonable and they change their menu every 1-2 months. It was divine again this June trip. I wish more people find out about this place. My partner is Coeliac and though they don’t offer GF meals, the owner tries hard. He ensure the batter are rice flour, he tried to bake GF bun for my partner this time. My partner thinks it was superb. So we’re encouraging him to make it for us again next trip when I’m back :) Wine Pairing used to be 6 types of wine (incl. dessert wine). But they decided to scale back this month to 5. But honestly with this value, you can’t complain. It makes Motif (Four Seasons Tokyo) value painful compared to Effe. Motif wine by the glass at Yen 2,400 is the same volume as the wine tasting by the glass here! (probably more at Effe and just as good!) Watch out! I’ll be back in Aug!

“Fantastic food and wine - friendly to your wallet”
Resto opened at 6pm but we arrive at 5:40. Most Japanese resto will turn you away but not here. Chef was so nice he ushered us into the resto and let us start with 2 sparkling wine. All the Italian wine they serve are very good. They've amazing tasting menu at only Yen 4,500 but we're not hungry so ...opt for Ala Carte. We have starter Fish Carpaccio and Gilled Scampi. Main course we had wagu beef and fish that cook to perfection. We get them to keep the wine going based on their selection per dish. All the wine they selected for us was SO GOOD. All in all we'd 10 glasses of wine + all the nice food. Senior Sommelier Mami San is always smiling no matter how busy, make every effort to choose the best wine for each course. Total ~ Yen 23,000. Service was impeccable. No smoking (VERY GOOD). We'll definitely be back again

The best meal I had in Tokyo, by far. The chef-owner, Fukuda-san, is brilliant. I ordered the multi-course tasting menu, and every bite was amazing. Fukuda-san’s wife is the sommelier. She has paired the perfect wine with each course, so just put yourself in her hands. Food, service, and ambience... are all top-notch. I will be back!
