“One of the best tempura I have tried”
There are just so many good food near the Asakusa area that we decided to "restaurant hop". We order only 1 dish from each restaurant and for this one, we ordered the Godaime tempura. The dish is tasty, coupled with the tempura sauce. I particularly like the one with "egg roe"-like piece. The bon...es were crispy and delicious too. See picture.

“Small bowl with big surprise”
Came here for a birthday celebration after receiving recommendations from friends. Heard it's a Tempura & Tendon restaurant from Asakusa, Tokyo and now is the 5th Generation running the place. Wow! Long History. Once here, one must have their Akimitsu's Signature Tendon (S$14.90) which have tempur...a battered Prawn, white fish, a poach egg, seaweed, assorted veg like Brinjal, sweet Potato, ladies finger and rice top with their Original Tendon Sauce. Meal also comes with a bowl of chawamushi & miso soup and free flow of pickles too. Yummy

“Indigestion after greasy second rate tempura”
Staff was rushed, even though few people were there, brought more dishes than we asked for and didn't offer to refund us. We were too tired and hungry to argue. Food was below average for this price, oily and not great... we are having a hard time digesting it. With all due respect to this communit...y, I wish I had seen all the one star reviews on Google maps before deciding to go based on the indulgent reviews posted here - lesson learned.

“Our first tendon!”
This small and clean restaurant is very good, the staff is kind and fast, and the food is delicious (lot of Japanese people were eating here). We tried the mushroom soup as an entreè and then a tempura and a tendon (a soft tempura, typical but not known in Europe). They were both served over a bowl ...a rice. Maybe the price is not so cheap for a tempura with boiled rice, but affordable.

“Akimitsu Tendon set”
Arrived for a rather late lunch around 3pm+. No crowds to deal with....that's a plus. We ordered the usual signature set lunches. Does not disappoint, the squid was done just nicely. Usually, squid can be quite a challenge to cook well. The flavours in the rice bowl were well balanced and "a li...ttle" salty for some. Their cuisine style requires that salt be used instead of other condiments. The tempura prawns were fresh and "bouncy". We came here because the other store (Dote no Iseya) was closed on Wednesday, we were told that both are "sister" stores. Not sure, how true...maybe some locals can clue us in. But it was delicious.
