“Amazing hidden gorgeous restaurant ”
This place is entered from the first floor where you go through a semicircular modern glass door ,then to the left you have to crouch down and go under a half- sized classic dark- wood slat door then climb up a beautiful wooden staircase to a classical Japanese wood screened dining room. You remove ...your shoes and put them in little lockers. The ambiance is daunting ( formal ) but the staff is very patient and helpful, and they have a translated menu in English. They are masters of many types of preparations but the best is their robata-- grilled fish. It's so simply presented but absolutely delicious; they have the freshest, sweet -fleshed fish, scallops, shrimp, eel, etc. Sitting at the chef's bar is a show of masters cooking, but if you want a table instead, you need to make a reservation , even midweek. If they don't have a Michelin star it's not because they don't deserve one.
