“Absolutely fabulous”
Absolutely fabulous. A great choice to savor a true traditional Kaiseki experience. Try to book online in advance to get a private room next to the river and enjoy one of the more special food experiences in Kyoto. The venue is intimate and traditional with exquisite service. Far from fancy touristi...c kaisekis in Kyoto, this is a unique authentic experience for all food lovers.

“Good Kaiseki in Arashiyama”
The restaurant is in Arashiyama on the other side of the river. It was very interesting to walk out of the tourist area and being serene in the old-style Japanese cabin. The service was very good. We were a group of 5. We got a private room. Even we were in the room but the service was excellence. K...aiseki is a fine meal course. They can explain to us quite well and we have really appreciated the cuisine. It was not only for eating but it was very good to learn and absorb the beauty of the food.

“Excellent experience of Kaiseki”
Our family of four visited Nishiki in May, it was our first Kaiseki in Japan, we had a lovely experience, food for all senses. If you want to experience Kaiseki while in Kyoto, highly recommend Nishiki. The staff was also very friendly to us foreigners. We would go back again.

“Best meal we had in Japan”
We wanted to try a kaiseki meal and was glad we chose Nishiki. Even though the people there spoke little English, they were very welcoming of us and had an English menu for us. We were recommended the 9 course lunch which we picked. We dined in the main dining room and noticed that most diners we...re Japanese. They all looked like they were enjoyed their meals and were having a great time. The food itself was amazing. Every course was well prepared and delicious. We loved it. To top it off, we were seated next to a Japanese and an English and they were glad to translate for us. We ended up chatting for a while before leaving. If you are looking for an authentic kaiseki meal and you can't speak Japanese, then this is the place to go. You will not regret it.
