Had a quick dinner here on way back to Osaka. Very poor food and for non-Japanese tourists the staff were not very helpful in terms of how to prepare the food served at the table.

“Great tempura lunch”
Happened to walk pass this restaurant at Kyoto station building and decided to have my lunch here. Free flow of Kyoto side dishes is included in my tempura set meal. The tempura is nicely fried and the miso soup is not too salty which suits my taste.

“Local produce focused cuisine”
Restaurant located in Kyoto station that showcases seasonal, local produce from regions nearby Kyoto. It's very comfortable dining and the staff are friendly. The hot plate beef and veg set was delightful, with generous plates of food presented to cook on your own small hot plate. The ingredients t...asted fresh, with good variety highlighting different flavours and textures of the locally sourced produce. Very filling, left satisfied. Inspired local cuisine, glad I visited.

ordered tamba beef to cook on hot grill and a chicken dish. the beef was so tough it was inedible, we complained to the waitress who went to the cashier/manager and waited for him to come over which he didn’t so took the bill over at the end of the meal. he started bartering over the price and as we... started with six small pieces of beef and left five had to pay 1/6 the cost of the beef meal and the cost of the chicken meal. no apologies, in summary food poor and customer service none existent, must be better so don’t go

“Nice lunch in Kyoto Station”
My girlfriend and I both had the unagi rice set meal. Came with miso soup and unlimited pickles, salad bar. All very nice. Would recommend.
