“Pleasant”
Not being able to read, understand or speak Japanese proved no problem in this pleasant restaurant. Very friendly and obliging staff and good food. We managed with the help of google translate, hands & feet and a lot of laughs to order very tasty and fresh food.

“Avoid”
We enjoyed two weeks of great food and great service in Japan until we came here. This was the first time when we were asked to pay a cover charge in Japan. 400 yen per person for some nibbles or 200 yen without nibbles. The waiter couldn’t tell us what we would get for our cover charge but we grudg...ingly accepted. What we were given was scarcely edible. The service is very poor, the food isn’t much better. This was the only mistake we made in Japan. Avoid.

“Tourist trap”
Expensive options clearly geared towards unsuspecting tourists. There are better places with food at fair price around.

“Stay Away!”
Tourist trap I am not certain it would be right. There is no English spoken here. But what peeves me the most is when a restaurant brings something to my table I did not order or want and expects me to pay for it. I feel tricked, deceived. Ordering is very difficult and done on a pad. I would a...dvise any foreigner to stay away.

“very good tempura in Nara and very friendly atmosphere!”
I was looking for a spot for dining with my family and I came across this restaurant with a stuffed deer in the window !! ... Despite this element a little kitsch, the interior of the room seemed cozy and we entered. Good choice, because we ate very good tempura and we were served by very friendly ...and very young staff. The cost of dinner was acceptable and no doubt the price-quality ratio was very beneficial.
