“A food delight in Gion”
Looking for dinner one night in the Gion district of Kyoto, we happened upon Tsu Da Ro - if I could give them 10 stars I would. They could not seat us right away and although hungry we decided to wait. We couldn't have been happier. In traditional tatami-style, we were escorted from the entry ar...ea to a private room where two other locals had started their dinner. We had no idea that dinner would be nine courses, but were fortunate to record them all: -Tofu appetizer with creamed bean, egg, snap peas, and wasabi; -Shrimp, bream, eggplant, and corn & bean tempura; -Rice pudding with sea bream and onion; -Whitefish with sour radish and baby tomato; -Sashimi: Tuna & snapper; -Duck, venison, beans, and blue cheese; -Seaweed soup with Japanese potato and snap peas; -Miso soup with side bowl of pickles & garlic; -Matcha ice cream A must-visit in Kyoto!

“Perfect meal perfect experience”
I'm so glad I visited Kyoto with Japanese friends because they found this restaurant! And made a reservation for lunch, because we wanted to eat Kaiseki ryori and it's much cheaper at lunch time (this one was only 2000 yen while dinner is from 7000 yen!). ITS AMAZING! We had our own tatami room lik...e.. like cartoons, our own room with heater, seating on cushions on the floor with a low table and our own serving man that was so so so extremely nice and offered to take us a thousand pictures everywhere in the restaurant haha because it's so traditional it basically looks like a traditional japanese styled house with inner small garden that you can see from your room. Food was also super delicious and variate, and just delicious. Did I mention delicious? aja GO!

“Best restaurant in Kyoto”
Great local 5 star food and staff. If you make reservations well in advance you can even book a Geisha or Maiko for 2 hours.

“5-star food and 5-star service”
Tsudaro is located in the Gion area, not far from Gion Corner performing arts centre. Set menu for Yen 5,500 (about EUR 55) was a smaller version of the full Japanese dinner for Yen 8,000 that requires a 2-day advance booking. House white wine by the glass, expensive, but good. Exceptionally good... service. With only about nine seats and subtle lighting, the bar/restaurant offers a very intimate atmosphere.
