“Michelin Star in the Making! What a Find!!!”
Brique serves up French/ Japanese fusion cuisine and hits all of the marks. How this place doesn't have a Michelin Star is a mystery to me. Great selection of wines, great appetizers, and the main courses were to die for. Great job, Brique!

“Inventive French style food with Japanese ingeredients and sensibility”
We really wanted to try a fine dining French restaurant for a special Boxing Day dinner after having traditional Japanese on Xmas day but all the expats had seemed to book out all the true French restaurants when calling around. Brique was near our hotel but they didn't speak English or French and o...nly had a Japanese menu - but with a menu faxed to our hotel beforehand, and the help of google translate, plus our concierge and a bit of blind faith, we managed to get a feel for the menu - and nothing disappointed. The servings are large - even the amuse bouche were the size of large starters. Good French wine selection. All the food beautifully presented and wonderful to taste. Tried raw sea urchin for the first time as an amuse bouche, along with beautiful mackerel sashimi wrapped around a puree of potato and anchovy, starters were a duck and foie gras remoulade with accompanying smoked duck salad; and lovely delicately fried small smelt fish done two ways. Mains were a waygu beef pie with port wine and shrimp medley done several ways. Dessert was a take on tiramisu. We were stuffed, way more food than we anticipated! Although I wouldn't recommend it as a family place we had an 8 year old child in tow who didn't eat but sat quietly with headphones on and watched a movie on his ipad and they didn't seem to have any issue with this. Our waiter was very friendly despite the language barrier and did speak literally one or two words of english. The whole staff including chefs all came outside and bowed in a special send off when we left! Very sweet. Do make sure you let them know in advance if you are non Japanese speakers planning to visit and make appropriate arrangements - or let them order for you if you'll eat anything! A lovely restaurant.
