We first came across this small restaurant back in September 2015 after visiting the Kiyomizu-dera Temple nearby. We were so pleased with the dishes we had that night we go back to Kyoto every year since then, just to treat ourselves a tasty meal at this place. In 2016, we ordered some dishes we ha...d the year before and everything was done to perfection. Later, chef came out of the kitchen and showed us some fresh shellfish (not on the menu). He asked if we were interested and we simply just said YES to all. Some were served raw (sashimi/sushi style) and some were cooked...all were absolutely mouth-watering. Last year, we had two meals there during our 4-day Kyoto visit. We went with "omakase" (dishes selected by chef) both times. Food was delicious as always and the dishes served on the two days were different, not a single repeat. A few weeks ago, we visited Kyoto again and had omakase twice at this restaurant. Needless to say, the fresh seafood and seasonal veggies were full of flavor, and we're extremely delighted

“What a wonderful discover!”
We discovered the place by chance, just walking by at lunch time: WHAT A LUNCH! Great japanese food and very high quality of ingredients. The chef cooks in front of you in a super tidy and clean kitchen. We took the chef menu and we very much appreciated. Not cheap (40€ lunch- dinner i guess around... 50€) but definitely worth it!

“Quiet place for delicious lunch”
Unassuming shopfront - we stumbled upon it when looking for lunch. Sea Beam rice (Ochazuke) was excellent - clear broth and very savoury with smokey feel. Fresh fish slices that cooks over the broth. Grilled sable fish was nicely done too - over charcoal. The Chef then picked up a Hokkaidō crab and ...asked if we eat it. I replied yes and he promptly prepared it. Was yummy! A gem find.
