MIZUKI

We had the traditional Japanese breakfast. It was an experience for all of us. Highly recommends it for sure!

We went to Mizuni for lunch and had the menu tjat comes with twelve pieces of sushi We enjoyed watching the skillfull sushi master while seating at the counter Gracious staff, quiet atmosphere. The rice is cooked to perfection and has a very light flavor, quality of fish is excellent Uni was our fa...vorite but all were really delicious We only eat raw fish in Japan and in top end places , this is really one of them

We enjoyed a Japanese breakfast twice during our stay in Kyoto at Mizuki. It was amazing both times. The restaurant is quiet, zen-filled and beautiful. The service is exceptional and the food was authentic, delightful and plentiful. We especially enjoyed the hot pot tofu, definitely the most amazi...ng tofu we have ever had. Highly recommend sushi and miso soup as well.

Located inside the beautiful Ritz-Carlton, we were escorted into a partitioned area with only eight chairs facing two chefs. The appetizer was very yums. Each piece of tempura was cooked to perfection. Dessert was sorbet and cheesecake from PH which ended the meal perfectly. Totally worth it!!

Simply put, this might be the best bite of steak (in this case wagyu) I've ever had. It just melts in your mouth. Nothing quite like it, even in some of the excellent steakhouses in the states. The salad, however, was anemic even by fancy standards. Service was good but not at the highest levels... that I've seen elsewhere (e.g. New York Grill). Portions are definitely more on the Japanese scale, so either be prepared to order more food or eat a sizeable lunch beforehand. The environment is somewhat sterile and the other guests didn't mind showing up in jeans. But if you're there for a taste you cannot easily find elsewhere, you will not leave disappointed.
