“Heavenly taste of Japanese rice with efficient service staff”
Dropped in for a quick dinner meal with family. We were served by a staff (who looks like a schoolgirl) but has upheld great standards of service despite her young age. For some reason, despite the cold weather of 6 degrees Celsius, the staff still served us cold green tea, until we asked for warm ...tea. Warm tea was served promptly at our request, which we appreciate. The meals cost each person on the average of JPY 500, for a very fulfilling meal for an Asian adult man. You can be sure you come in as a hungry man and will leave the place as a well satisfied man! Give this place a try, if you are a foreigner like me, it sure tastes different to the Yoshinoya in your country.

“One of the cheapest and best meals in Japan”
Japan is an expensive country . When I visit Japan , I try to eat a balance of more expensive and cheaper meals . One of the best restaurant in the mid price range is Gyukaku , but the best cheap eatery is Yoshinoya . A bowl of Gyudon costs about SG$5-$7. It comes with a hot bowl of soup , a side... dish and a refillable green tea . There are also set meals which the rice is served separately . You can choose from a few types of side dish such as salad , kimchi , raw egg and etc . I enjoyed the beef can grilled salmon set which rice was served separately. My son enjoyed dipping the well seasoned and soft sliced beef into the raw egg before eating . There is good balance of fats and meat to the beef. Although the restaurant is usually occupied with diners , the food was served quickly . It is a fantastic value for money for tourists like me who has a limited spending budget . The green tea and water are free , making it a complete meal . The serving is generous and a meal could fill me up . I reminisce the warm and fuzzy feeling against the winter cold after having my meals there . It is one of my family's favourite restaurant . I visited a few branches in Japan - the one near Shinsaibashi in Osaka , Sapporo JR Station , Shibuya and Shinjuku South . Although they are a chain restaurant , they maintain their good standard throughout their branches . Don't be put off with dining in a chain restaurant because it is the best chain restaurant in Japan . I saw many office men eat there . It is a sign that the Japanese find it cheap and good . I highly recommend Yoshinoya to tourists who want their money to stretch , delicious and have a warm and fuzzy feeling after eating .
