"Kaminarimon" is the main gate of Sensoji Temple in Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo. It is just a 5 minutes' walk from Asakusa Station, and it can be accessed easily. This is why a lot of tourists visit it. On the right side of the main gate is enshrined Fujin (God of wind), and the left side of it is enshrined Raijin (the god of thunder). And a big lantern that says "Kaminarimon" in big letters is hung from the center of the impressive red gate. It is such a symbol of Asakusa that people associate "Kaminarimon" with Asakusa. It is also popular among foreign tourists as a spot to enjoy Japanese culture. Asakusa is also known to people that it has "Sanja (three company's) Festival". It is a big festival of "Asakusa Shrine". It is recommended that you watch a portable shrine marching the street and feel the best of atmosphere of Edo.
