The Harimaya Bridge is located in the heart of Kochi city in 1-1 Harimaya-cho, Kochi, and is known for the phrase "At the Harimaya Bridge in Tosa in Kochi, I saw a monk buying a hair ornament" sung at the Yosakoi Festival. The bridge was originally a small private bridge over Hori River between the two stores "Harimaya" and "Hitsuya" in the Edo period. It's also famous as the setting of the love story of Junshin and Ouma during the Yosakoi festival. It now has been turned into the Harimaya Park with a monument of Junshin and Ouma. The Harimaya Bridge was, among other things, the filming location for a film of the same name that was released in 2009.
