“Huge portions with a mountain of cabbage”
The food was really good and the meat was very tender and juicy ! Was surprised to see how much cabbage there was, had to finish it before getting to the rice. I'd still go back to eat this mountain of a meal too thou.

“Good food, large portion ”
I ate here the night I arrived in Nagano. On arrival the ladies who were serving seemed to run when I arrived. I think this was because they didn't speak any English. The one who drew the short straw and had to serve me was visibly relieved when I was able to order in Japanese. Bless her! I ordered... the Tonkatsu which came with cabbage, rice, miso and pickles. It was massive, really tasty and great value. No complaints!

“Large Portion of Miso Pork Cutlet”
Since we were staying at the Metropolitan Hotel in Nagano Station, we came to Meijitei for lunch since we heard the pork katsu was very good. There was a long wait. We came on Monday, December 30 at around 12:30 pm. We put our name down on the list and stood in line. The wait was around 25 minut...es. We ordered the Katsu Curry for 1485 yen and regular Katsu for 1380 yen. They have a bottle of sauce on the table for you to add as you wish. There is also an English menu. We paid cash. The pork was good and tasty and the portion quite large. If you are not that hungry, you will want to share.

“Convenient and easy and tasty”
A convenient location within Nagano station makes it easily accessible for a quick tasty meal. The serving portions are huge. They serve Soba noodles which is a Nagano area speciality and paired it with tonkatsu. The regular portion is already large enough to serve 2 with moderate appetites!

“Great lunch ”
Having missed a connecting train at Nagano station heading for Yudanaka I was in need of some lunch and went to Meijitei on the strength of its TripAdvisor rating and was not disappointed! I had the basic but very good pork cutlet lunch with miso rice and salad together with the special recommended ...dipping sauce. As others have noted the service was very good and friendly and not least the constant supply of iced water.For the quality of the food the meal was very good value at Yen1450 with tax.
