I visited this restaurant with my boyfriend for our spring break. We were craving Yakiniku so we thought we'd give it a shot. We were seated quickly, but they just stuck us in the back and forgot about us. They showed us how to order through the iPads and we ordered a bunch of meats and sides. We on...ly got the sides and waited an HOUR until I got fed up and told my boyfriend to complain. It was only until after we complained that we started getting our food. Mind you, parties that were seated AFTER US (who were Japanese locals; we were tourists) were already getting their orders. Frankly, I was pissed. So much so, that I lost my appetite. Although the prices are great, there is no way I would recommend eating here.

“Good Value for Money at S$36 Per Pax !”
I dined at the branch at Akihabara . There are three pricing for the buffet . I chose the cheapest at about 3000Yen /S$36 . As the Singapore dollar has strengthened , I paid less on this recent trip . I had a better meal at their Otaru and Sapporo branch . There were a few of beef , beef tongue , ... pork , and chicken to choose from . I ordered mostly beef . It came in miso , Tare and ship flavour . The beef is on the tough side at Akihabara . Only the fatty beef 五花牛肉 is tender . However , being the fatty beef with fats (obviously), I could not eat much . I still got to enjoy many of the side dishes - cold spicy beancurd , seaweed soup , raw cabbage with sesame seeds and salt , kimchi , bibimbap and etc . The desserts were also yummy . I enjoyed the green tea ice cream and pudding with brown sugar . The branch at Akihabara was not crowded . We were led to our table quickly . Customers were allowed to smoke in the restaurant . The place was not smokey , and my clothes did not smell smokey after leaving the place . I did ask for a large plastic bag to our outer down jackets . The service was fairly quick too . The lift leading to the Gyukaku was old , but it did not mar the dining experience. Although the Gyukaku at Akihabara is not the best Gyukaku I have eaten , it is still better than the Anchor Point outlet in Singapore . Will I dine at Gyukaku again ? Of course yes ! It is one of my favorite restaurants in Japan. Perhaps , I will try out another branch as there are so many branches around Tokyo .
