Bistro Teppan Jai faim

My wife and I had the seven course set menu. We had no idea what we were getting to be honest but the food was all perfectly cooked, seasoned and presented. I have included some photos of some of the dishes to give an idea of the dishes. Our seats gave us a ring side seat watching the chefs prepare ...the food and they really know there trade, very professional. I can't imagine anyone coming here and being disappointed to be honest.

Interesting delicious fusion of Japanese and French food. Great selection of seafood and meat dishes to satisfy most tastes. Tucked into our own space up above the kitchen afforded us our own space while still being well looked after by the team. Greatly appreciated their assistance in translating o...ur next destination into Japanese for us to hand to the taxi driver. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful time at Bistro Teppan Jai faim. Everything was delicious and reasonable. We especially loved their Butter Soy Sauce Edamame, Special Mix Okonomiyaki, Sashimi Carpaccio, and Cold Tofu with Chicken Salad. One of us could not eat pork and the restaurant was very accommodating and cha...nged the ingredients to meet our needs. The place has a casual but trendy vibe. The staff was attentive. The menu was somewhat eclectic but had something for everyone. The restaurant is located behind the M'ZA department store. We were able to walk in on Tuesday night, but this place fills up on the weekend, so reservations are recommended. There was only one negative. The night we visited, one person who was sitting on the counter was smoking. We were seated far away and the restaurant was open to the street so it did not directly affect us. We will happily visit this restaurant again when we are next in town.

Our family of four dined here in June of 2018. The restaurant is completely non-smoking. All the items tasted great, except the steak was a bit chewier than I liked. The female wait staff spoke with us in okay English to keep my family entertained as this was a weeknight and relatively slow evening.... As for the reviewer who said that he didn't get an itemized bill at the end, that is relatively common in Japan. I have eaten at many Michelin Star restaurants and newspaper recommended places as well as places inside malls and department stores. I can tell you that in about 1/3 of them, whether Michelin Star restaurants or mall restaurants, I will get a piece of scrap paper listing only the Japanese Yen for the cost of dinner and no itemized bill. Trust me, for a country that doesn't even take tips, they are not going to "pad your bill".

Menu item says 3 steaks, chef’s choice. You get 1 steak, a hamburger and a piece of chicken. Also don’t like receiving a bill with just a total, no itemization at all. Pretty sure the bill was padded
