“Traditionally cooked pizza ..... just the ticket for a late supper!”
Arriving in Toyama considerably later than planned, my first priority was to take a few photographs of Toyama Castle at night. Mission accomplished; it was after 10pm, by the time I started to seek out somewhere to eat. Although Bistro Danza seems to be primarily a Steak Restaurant, a pizza cooked ...in their traditional pizza oven proved to be just the ticket. Torn between ordering the 'Bismark' (with an egg baked into the centre) or the 'Patatine' (topped with french fries), I went for the latter ..... a meal in itself! As enjoyable, as it was unexpected!

“Very busy, Very good, Little English”
Just next to the Hotel Excel Tokyu this small but busy eatery fed our family last night. They had an english menu which was good for us as we didn't have any real grasp of the language and the waiter had little grasp of English. However they were very patient with us despite the guy being run off hi...s feet he made sure we understood the wait for mains would be a bit long (20-30 minutes). We had the steak (lean rump steak excellently cooked) some ribs (pork spare ribs with a delicious sauce) and some pizza (margarita again excellent from wood fired oven). I would not hesitate to attend again only downside is they don't have a non smoking section but the place is well air conditioned so it wasn't too bad. The locals businessmen and single alike seemed to fill this out as well always a good sign. Give this restaurant a go, have some patience on their english and your japanese and you will be rewarded.
