Akasaka Restaurant Guide

Akasaka, located to the west of Tenjin in the center of Fukoka City.It is one station away from Tenjin on the subway.Fukuoka's entertainment districts all differ in their details. Amongst them, Akasaka is known for its mellow, relaxing atmosphere. This is because the area is home to many office buildings, and has many restaurants and bars that are hidden away and are often used for corporate wining and dining.Maizuru Park is located nearby.Maizuru Park is situated on the ruins of Fukuoka Castle. It is also well known as a cherry blossom viewing spot, and is a symbol of the city. The gate and turrets of Fukuoka Castle still remain and are designated as Important Cultural Properties by the national and prefectural governments. The Fukuoka Castle History Exploration Hall is a facility where visitors can enjoy a more intimate experience of the castle through old maps and scale models. The park occupies a spacious site and is also home to Heiwadai Track and Field Stadium and Heiwadai Baseball Stadium. The Heiwadai Track and Field Stadium is the starting and finishing point for the Fukuoka International Marathon.Next door is the courthouse, the Fukuoka Art Museum, and Ohori Park.Plans are in place to unify the site and create a hub for history, culture, and nature.
