Koshien Restaurant Guide

Southeast Nishinomiya City is the area with the Hanshin Koshien Stadium. As maintenance was being carried out on Japan National Route 2, the reclaimed riverbeds of two rivers were sold to Hanshin Electric Railway, who then developed the area.It is an upscale residential area within the Hanshin area.In 1924, Koshien Large Sports Field--now Koshien Stadium--opened. It was named after that year's calendar. The surrounding area, which developed into a residential district, was also named Koshien.Besides being the home stadium of the professional baseball team, the Hanshin Tigers, the National High School Baseball Invitational Tournament is held here in the spring and the National High School Baseball Championship is held here in summer. It is also the object of adoration of high school baseball players. If Koshien is simply mentioned, these tournaments are often named.Between Hanshin Koshien Station and Koshien Stadium there are shopping centers including Daiei Koshien and Arkas Koshien, and the streets are lined with restaurants.
