Nishinomiya Restaurant Guide

Like other city areas in the Osaka/Kobe region, it was a prosperous hilly area that had long been an important transportation hub. However, when roads and railroads began running between Osaka and Kobe in the Meiji Period, the environment began to change dramatically.Nishinomiya is popular for amusement parks and as a residential area, home to Koroen Amusement Park and the Kansai Horse Racing Club. It also has campuses of Kansai Academy and Kobe Girls College, and both have stylish Western designs created by William Merrell Vories that are emblematic of the city.Nishinomiya village within Nishinomiya city is also one of the Five Famous Sake Villages in the Kobe area, and it continues to brew refined sake to this day using traditional techniques. The Shukugawa River that runs through the city is a popular place for recreation among the locals, but the 2.7km (1.6mi) stretch that runs from the harbor to the North Shukugawa bridge has around 1700 cherry trees and is famous nation-wide for its blossoms.
