Takatsuki Restaurant Guide

Takatsuki City, located in the northeastern Osaka Plain. Many people live in this bed town as it is located between Osaka and Kyoto. The town is centered on the JR Kyoto Line and the Hankyu Kyoto Line, but there is also abundant nature, with mountains on the north side and a river flowing in the southern end of the city.Between Takatsuki and the neighboring Ibaraki, you'll find the Mishima tombs. In the basin of the Yodogawa river, many ancient tombs remain, including the "Imashirozuka Tumulus", the greatest keyhole-shaped Tumulus in existence.Tomida, which flourished as a big base for sake brewing during the Edo Period, still has old sake breweries to this day and they continue to brew delicious sake.In the north, you will find the "Settsukyou Park".The Akutagawa River runs through the park, so it's loved by the citizens as a scenic area touched by nature.Between the Nishikyo Ward of Kyoto and Takatsuki City, you'll find "Mt. Pon-Pon", the highest peak in both areas. If you walk on the mountaintop, you will hear a "pon-pon" sound, which is what gave the mountain it's name. It is 678.7 meters (2,226.7 ft) high.It is popular among hikers all year as an easy hiking course.
