The first New Town to be developed in Japan was "Senri New Town", situated across the cities of Toyonaka and Suita.Toyonaka is known as a city that prides itself on its excellent transportation access, as there are trains operated by the Kita-Osaka Kyuko Railway Company, the Hankyu Corporation, and the Osaka Monorail, and the main freeways and highways in the Kansai region pass through this city.It takes less than 15 minutes to get from Kita-Osaka Kyuko's Senri-Chuo Station to Shin-Osaka Station, which has access to the Shinkansen.Osaka International Airport is also in Toyonaka. This airport, also called "Itami Airport", is indispensable to the Kansai region, as it is often used by many people from Kyoto and Shiga, as well as Osaka. The Senrigawa River south of the airport is a popular spot to watch the airplanes. The view of the airplanes skimming overhead just before landing is remarkable.
