Ginza Restaurant Guide

Ginza is a world-leading shopping district. It is a shopping district lined with famous and long-established department stores and luxury shops, and has a name that has resounded around the world since before the war. It was also the epicenter of Western culture in Japan, including such things as fashion and food. From the 1990s, rows of foreign luxury brand stores lined up on Chuo Avenue and Harumi Avenue, and now the wave of fast fashion is coming in.It is also a center for arts and culture, including many theaters, such as the Kabuki-za and the Tokyo Takarazuka Theater. It was quick to incorporate the food culture of the West. In 1817, Buneido (located where the Kimuraya Sohonten now is) was the first to sell anpan, a sweet roll filled with bean paste. In 1911, the Cafe Printemps, which was modeled on a Parisian cafe, was opened, starting the golden age of cafes. After World War II, globally recognized fine dining restaurants made inroads. While in 1971 McDonald's opened its first store in Japan in a prime Ginza location inside the Ginza Mitsukoshi Department Store. Until the present day, Ginza has always been at the cutting-edge of fashions and trends. It is a district where one can look forward to seeing how things will change in the future.
