Harajuku Restaurant Guide

Harajuku fuses unique fashion with the adult feeling of Omotesando. In 1906, Harajuku Station was opened, and in 1919, Omotesando Avenue was fitted out for the establishment of the Meiji Shrine. It is currently the epicenter of unique fashion and culture, and is also famous around the world. Going from Harajuku Station to the Meiji Shrine, when you cross over the area of Jingu Bridge, there are many tourists from overseas taking pictures of the women in Gothic Lolita costumes and the young street performers.Takeshita-dori (Takeshita Street) has many unique and flashy retail shops geared toward young people, and is popular with students on school trips as well as tourists from all over the world.Omotesando is lined with big-name brand stores, trendy sweet shops, and Omotesando Hills, which was built on the site of the site of the Dojunkai Aoyama Apartments. It is always bustling with people on weekends.Landmarks at the intersection with Meiji-dori are Laforet Harajuku and Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku, which opened in 2012.Along Cat Street, Ura-Harajuku ("Back Harajuku") also has its own distinctive fashion styles.
