“A good simple place”
This is an all-purpose place in Aizuwakamatsu where I often go. (a) Sometimes for a family-lunch or -dinner. Or just for a big ice cream with the kids. (b) Sometimes for a business meeting. (c) Sometimes alone to work. The staff speaks a bit English and is very friendly and helpful. They can combine... tables to larger ensembles and, thus, accommodate larger groups. Many small and large families come. Many businessmen with their laptops meet there during the day and hold meetings / interviews / legal negotiations. Since it's open all night, the scene at night is sometimes quite colorful and entertaining. The restaurant has a good breakfast service, and a daily lunch special. In the evening, you can eat a la carte. They have a standard menu which changes approximately once a year, and then season-specials. Food includes: Japanese lunch/dinner sets. Spicy Asian noodle sets. Spaghetti. Fried chicken. Hamburgers. Steaks. Salads. Deserts, including special, large, season-dependent ice-cups (there is a strawberry-phase in late winter, a mango-phase in early spring, and a grape-phase in autumn). The restaurant has a drink-bar with an Italian coffee maker plus the 7/11 coffee maker which is also excellent, plus all sorts of tea, and soft drinks including diet drinks (~¥300 one time fee for arbitrarily many drinks). Recommendations: On a budget, eat the large spaghetti Bolognese (~¥1000). This will fill you for a day. In the summer, eat the cold spaghetti Genovese. In winter times, some of the hot&spicy noodle sets are to be recommended. Otherwise, the low-calories gourmet salads are good, and the large grape ice cream cups are delicious and not low-calories.
