GOO FOOD HALLUenomarui

The Goo Food Hall in Ueno Marui Mall is on the top floor, which I believe was the 9th floor if I recall correctly. This is a spot that specializes in yoshoku, or Western-inspired food as interpreted by the Japanese. I personally got a combo of omurice and a hamburg steak—two of my favorite yoshoku...-style dishes in Japan. Since this is a food hall with a relatively simple fast-food style setup, you order at the counter, wait at your table, and then just wait for your number to be called. As for the food itself, I thought it was… good. Not the best omurice or hamburg steak, but overall satisfactory enough. This food hall seems to be more of a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none, as there are multiple other restaurants that seemed to be under the same branch. I kind of got that from the taste—like it tasted fine. I definitely didn't dislike it. I just didn't find anything special compared to places that specialize in omurice or hamburg steak. It was perfectly average by Japanese food standards.
