SANKOUEN

We wanted to buy books in the local book stores and enjoyed a good dinner here with spicy chicken, cool Super Dry beer etc. The staff was attentive and very welcoming. All in all a clear recommendation when in the area.

We wanted to eat Chinese as there are more Vegetables in Chinese restaurants than most Japanese restaurants. Sankouen was excellent. Each dish was filled with vegetables and well prepared. Both the manager and the hostess spoke adequate English to easily explain the menu to us. For Tokyo, we felt t...he $25 we paid for 2 people for lunch, including a beer, was a very good price for the quality and service we received! The decor & seating of the restaurant is both modern & comfortable.The food was so good we returned for a second lunch a few days later despite the restaurant's location being out of our way. It was very busy both days, we waited for a table one day. The location is excellent for those planning a trip to explore the "Book Street" neighborhood. we highly recommend this place, its not often visited by Western tourists they told me.

This restaurant was across the road from where we were staying and it was a great choice. We were given an English menu upon request, and the staff were very helpful and courteous in answering any questions we had. The atmosphere was lovely and we intended to go back, however they were closed on su...nday night and so we had to elsewhere.
