Ilchianti Enoshima

The food is always very nicely executed at iL Chianti. The big plus of that restaurant is the location, offering a beautiful view on the sea. A perfect spot to enjoy a delicious lunch with great view

What drew us was the promise of gelato and other desserts advertised outside on the chalkboard. Looking in we saw no less than five empty tables...you would think that we would have been seated,right? There was one couple ahead of us. Going in to inquire about the gelato flavors offered I was greete...d by a condescending young waitress. She informed me there was no take away service, I replied that we were looking for a table. She then shooed me outside and using the Japanese language only machine produced a numbered ticket for us to wait for a table. Fifteen minutes later, five empty tables mind you, a couple walks out. You would think the couple ahead of our party would have been seated in a few moments, right? Nope, wrong again. We waited five more minutes, long enough to see the waitress go on a break and the host come around to shift two tables ( not one reserved sign in sight) and stand scratching his head. Needless to say there are other ice creams and desserts all over the island just as there are many fish in the sea.

The restaurant has great views both from the terrace and the inside, looking out to see. I had a mushroom pizza, which was pretty tasty and helpful as it can be really difficult to find vegetarian food in Japan! It cost about 1600 yen which was reasonable considering the location! If you're on Enosh...ima island and want a decent lunch/dinner, I would recommend this place.

A lunch on the terrace with a good pizza front the sea was great . The staff is like other restaurant in JPN .
