“Really, really good.”
This place is legit. We’ve been in Japan now for a week, and we stumbled across Chianti Como. Best meal we’ve had yet. Understated, but tight kitchen. Had the Caesar salad and funghi pizza. Finished with the blueberry cheesecake. This is a special place. A gem. And we were the only gaijins - ...and it was a full house. On a Wednesday. The locals clearly know. Just don’t be in a hurry. Kitchen is slow by Western standards. But what price perfection?

“Family style Italian restaurant”
Large generous portions served. All Italian favorites are there. Not The finest cuisine but it will please you If you are very hungry after a day out doing activities on or around yamanaka lake, or hiking the mountains.

“Great if you’re in need of a bit of home....”
After a few really awful meals, we needed a taste of the familiar. This place was good in the fact we were in the middle of Japan and they had 100% tried to make it authentic Italian, from the decor to the wine lists. Food was ok - still had a Japanese twang - sea urchin pizza ....... Staff lovely ...and helpful. Wine was ok. Overall expensive but I assume most of the ingredients were imported so not a surprise.
