“Top Class Tonkatsu in Ryogoku”
The place opens at 11;00 am and they line up from 10:00 or earlier which indicates Hasegawa's popularity. It is quite small and you are in and out but they serve very good Tonkatsu at a very reasonable price.

“Amazing pork and Tonkatsu Sauce”
The sauce, the sauce, the sauce!!!! We stumbled upon this restaurant walking around the area and couldn’t have been happier we did. This is a must try and we will be coming back!

“Very popular, but too much fat on the pork”
I read about this place on some online reviews, and it was very well reviewed. I love Tonkatsu, and have been to many places in Japan that serve it, including my favourite thus far at Maisen restaurant. I waited in line with others to get in, as it isn't a huge place, but seems to have a strong fo...llowing. Waited a bit for it to arrive, and looked very good. On first bite, the texture just didn't seem right, so I looked at the piece and it was basically a piece of fat. I politely removed it from my mouth. Then looked at the other slices of the pork "loin" and maybe 20-25% of it was just fat. I have never had Tonkatsu where there was so much fat, usually some on the edge, but not all through it. So, I am not sure if I was an unlucky one, or if this is the pork that they usually serve, but I never intentionally eat fat. It is already deep fried. It isn't inexpensive either, the cheaper version is 1980 Yen ($24 CAD). So if you are ok with a lot of fat, go ahead and visit. If you want lean pork deep fried tonkatsu, you better look somewhere else.

“Deservedly The Best Tonkatsu”
It's just 2 mins away from Rogoku Station, which is just 2 stops away from Akihabara. So as one of cheap Michelin eats in Tokyo, it's location is not that far off from the city center, unless you stay in Shibuya or Shinjuku area, in that case you should prepare around 35 minutes travel time. We reac...hed there 11.30 am on a Sunday, and there's a small queue already. We just need to wait around 20 minutes though, not bad at all compared to other cheap Michelin eats in Tokyo. We opted for the most expensive menu that cost 2,800 yen and glad that we did so! The pork loin was perfect, cooked to perfection and simply the best tonkatsu we have ever tasted! They have the standard tonkatsu sweet black sauce, but they recommended to enjoy the tonkatsu with pink salt and wasabi. Needless to say, not all tonkatsu could taste that good with only pink salt and wasabi. All in all it was really good, not too greasy, very tender pork meat and umami! If you could only pick one cheap Michelin eats in Tokyo, Hasegawa is the right choice! Unforgetable taste plus easy travel and quick enough queuing time combine to make it the best pick!

“One of the best dinners of my life”
Title pretty much says it all. The super deluxe is totally worth it. If you're not 100% (which you shouldn’t think twice about spending the 2800 yen) at least get the deluxe, it’s only 1800 yen and still absolutely delicious. The mushroom miso is delicious, the sauces are great although I just like...d a bit of mustard and ponzu. The place is small, come early or make a reservation.
