Aroma Classico

Happened to be walking through the restaurant area and looked at the menu outside of the restaurant and the maitrèd came out and talked to us explained the menu and we decided to come in. He sat us at a nice window seat and there was even a piano player during the dinner. a true hidden gem. Servi...ce was great. we complimented on the service staff with their English ability and they said they are trying especially with the Olympics coming up they expect a lot of English clients. Food Service and ambiance was fantastic a nice surprise. The waiter even apologized for a group of co-workers having a farewell party which was nice of him but not necessary. will definitely return. Keep up the great service

This is my first ever review - so be patient with me. From the moment of arrival the waitstaff were slow and uninterested. I ordered Salami and Jamon for the entree - and I found it to be of poor quality. It was no different to what I could buy at a supermarket anywhere around the world - I expec...ted more. For the main I ordered spaghetti and a plate of pork. I was surprised that they were served separately as I specifically asked for them to be served at the same time....pretty much summed up the whole customer experience as waitstaff didn't listen to requests and were very slow. The only saving grace was the wine - but given the bottle cost 14,000 JPY, it would want to have been good (which it was !!!!). Maybe they were having an off night given there are many positive reviews for this restaurant elsewhere, but I found it to be a poor overall experience.

This place deserves way more attention that it gets. Place was so good, went back to have another meal there a few days later. For context, I'm an American who likes great food in nice surroundings but isn't interested in the very formal, Micheline-star type experience (which seems to be what th...e Japanese tend to look for good restaurants). This place is sufficiently upscale from an American perspective but probably comes across as too informal from a Japanese perspective. YMMV. Food was excellent -- very, very good Italian (and I live in the California Bay Area where we have good Italian). Good selection of wine and drink options. Service was very good, multiple people spoke English which made it easier. I did a walk-in both times I was there and there was space easily available, so you likely don't need reservations. Sat night was clearly date night, most of the tables had couples; during the work week it was clearly work dinners with 2-4 or more people. This restaurant is ~3-5 min walking distance from Shinagawa station, so it's easy access from many parts of the city. Am planning to go back the next time I'm in Tokyo regardless of where my hotel is.

The best meal I've had in Japan. The menu was in Italian and Japanese, so the waiter, read the entire menu to us. It was adorable. Ask for a table by the window. Very romantic and quiet. the lighting was perfect (I'm over 50... lighting really matters!!). Food is exceptional.
