“Barbecue Lunch Before Shopping”

This is a huge complex with the Restaurant in the front. Reasonably priced lunch set (can be bought with onsen tickets) of meat, lots of veggies, and yakisoba to finish. Nice German Beer Hall atmosphere. Saiboku (Saitama + Bokujo Farm) has been recognized globally for its SUPER GOLDEN pork (also on ...sale in the meat store). Expensive. Their sausages are very good. The complex has onsen, a little park with pig statute, fruit store, stalls with meat grilled on a stick, and ice cream. We have even bought great fertilizer made from pig p__p here. But we love the vegetable store in the back, all the local farmers bring the freshest veggies to sell. Even saw green eggs (and ham anyone?)

“Lovely hot springs and massages ”

We thoroughly enjoyed the hot springs here. There is a small outdoor area, but most of the baths are inside. They are all varying temperatures and some have jacuzzi jets. We had massages, which were excellent, and lunch which was a good selection of pork dishes. A most enjoyable day for a reasonable... price. Afterwards we visited the farmers stalls and bought some of the fresh food, all of which was good quality.

If you like pork, this place is great. Walked here with family from Chikozan park for lunch. We ate the pork nikuman and had ice cream. There is also a public bus from Sayama station.

“A pleasant soak and dinner but really a family venue.”

There is nothing wrong with this place but there are better restaurants and hot springs about, especially in this area. Good points 1) A large place with a lot of things going on in the day time - farmers market (esp. pork products - hence the 'hamu' i.e. ham in the name), golf course and many chi...ldren's attractions. 2) The restaurant is bright and friendly - indeed that applies to the whole building 3) Child friendly - they allow kids in the baths, so there are a lot about. Many hot springs bar kids under high school age. 4) Recently renovated baths area. 5) A lot of buses run straight to the site from both JR and Tobu Line stations near Kawagoe - I am aware of them from Kasahata (JR) and Kasumigaseki (Tobu) but there could well be many others. The buses end at this site so the destination on the front is Saiboku さいぼく。 Comment 1) Menu is not that inspiring - it is OK but with such a stress on fresh and specialist pork they could make more of this (there is even a golden pig statue at the entrance to the baths) 2) The baths feel fake. I know that it is real natural water but the baths are very obviously man made - think Disney fake rocks. 3) No view from the baths - they are enclosed by a high wall - I like being able to see a view but there are probably just fields around here. 4) A lot of kids when we went on a Sunday evening. 5) Close at 10pm.
