“Very good shabu-shabu”
Don-tei is a restaurant specializing in nabemonos, particularly shabu-shabu. The place is very beautiful, in the Honmoku area, near the Saknei-en Gardens. The restaurant is simple and welcoming, and the service very attentive. The shabu-shabu is made with exceptional quality meat (you have to choose... among different kinds of meat). The dish is prepared by the client, with the supervision of the staff. The cost-benefit ratio is good (the shabu-shabu for four people with a good wagyu beef, excluding drinks, came out for approximately $ 50.00). In the menu, there are several options of sakê. Really worth a visit!

“Tableau Shabu Shabu”
The DonTei chain is not bad, but neither is it exceptional, mainly offering a boiled meat restaurant banking on condiments for taste. Staff appear overwhelmed, and a complementary salad bar staple has been closed at this Honmoku outlet, replaced by "fantasy salad bar" that costs extra even for the ..."all you can eat" plate. We made reservations for a very large group, but the area under the table had spilled rice on arrival, and did not match the above-meal cost. The location is near Yokohama Country & Athletic Club and on a main suburban thoroughfare, about a 20-minute drive from Yokohama station. Parking is in the back and limited.
