“Ok food but lacking in service”
There were 3 of us first time at this restaurant having the all you can eat. It was about 2980 yen pp with beef, pork, vegetables, rice, and dessert. The waiter did give us an English menu but it was very confusing and hard to understand just exactly what is covered under this price and what isn't. ...There are several price levels to the all you can eat in addition to set prices (not all you can eat). Unfortunately, our server's English was very limited and really could not explain to us what was included in our all you can eat price. He was very friendly but the night we were there, there was a huge party of about 15 to 20 people celebrating so all the servers were running around like chickens with its heads cut off. The food quality was acceptable for that price. 2 types of beef were offered--fattier type and a leaner type. We much preferred the short rib fattier type because the leaner beef was too dry for us. 2 types of pork were offered as well--one really fatty and the other one much leaner. Each bamboo box that comes has only 3 slices in it so it is ridiculous why they do not put more slices in each box iso of bringing so many boxes. Vegetables were a good selection but they come in small portions so you will have to order a few orders. We also asked for the gyoza dumplings that were included and they were very good. We also asked for rice which was included but the waiter did manage to convey to us that udon noodles were not part of our price point. We were allowed to have 2 different types of soup broths out of a selection of about 4 to 5 different types. Each person is allow to select one dessert from a list of about 7 choices. We had ice creams and they were very refreshing but after all, how can you go wrong with ice cream. The reasons why only 3 stars are because the waiter got our broth choices wrong and then instead of giving us the all you can eat, he brought us only one set of meal to share amongst the 3 of us. So, you can imagine 3 slices of beef in one bamboo box for the 3 of us. Ridiculous! Another reason for this rating is because the service was poor and due to the language barrier, despite we asking the server to bring us everything that is included in our price point all you can eat, he just didn't understand. Would I return to this location next time when we are in Tokyo, NO! We will gladly try another Onysai perhaps in Shinjuku.

“Great for medium size groups”
This is a great place to go for an office party of 10-20 people. They have large room to accommodate such a group, the all-you-can-eat/drink menu has a great selection. They typically have a server (or 2) dedicated to the large party room on the top floor. There is no excuse to leave hungry wheth...er you enjoy the meat or the vegetables.
