I had the WORST experience during my stay in Japan! I am Japanese, and I went with a friend from the US. They charged extra for gaijin (foreigners). One girl in particular, 20's with short hair, spoke back to me in a English word with a very Japanese pronunciation when I spoke to her in Japanese. I ...am fluent in Japanese. I never want to feel bad about Japanese people or Japanese culture. Please stay away! こんなに感じの悪い店員ばかり揃った店は珍しいです。 何が彼らをそうさせてるのか、、外人追加料金ってそういう意味なのでしょうね。 笑えるのですが、流暢な日本語で話しかけても発音の悪い英単語を使い言い返してきます(２０代ショートヘアの女性店員)

Dropped in to Igu and Peace due to the beers on offer and found a great restaurant/bar with fab service. We sat on a swinging car bench seat overlooking Himeji having some great beers, wine and food. Service was top notch. Highly recommended. Access to restaurant through secret door which was grea...t fun.

This small restaurant is on the top floor of a building devoted to restaurants on the main drag in Himeji. If you like beef and you like German black beer or Chimay beers: check this place out. It has a little car which is now on a raised platform with a table inside and seating for two- not that it... is actually used. The private room for maybe a party of 8 features a pristine clawfoot style bathtub with gleaming fixtures. The ladies room is a bit steampunk in design but very clean and well appointed. There are actual swings facing the small tables that overlook the street, I could go on.... but the food is really well done and nicely presented. Lunch is an inexpensive but excellent value. The fried chicken is boneless parts of thigh and breast and very nicely crisp without a thick batter coating. The beef is cooked to order and when we asked for no salt it came exactly as ordered! Order some small plates to share, sit back and enjoy a beer and relax far above the heat of the city.
