Amazing place, incredible food and family friendly ambiance...WE LOVED IT! The Staff attempted their best to communicate in English and were very helpful! We will definitely come back again!

“Good food”

The Calzones in particular are really tasty. The Tuscan red wine was overly chilled, but otherwise it was a decent feed. Quite pricey, but to be expected for Italian food in Japan, I guess.

We got here early at 5.30pm for dinner and were the first there. Service was good and they have us English menus. Not long later our food arrived. Every thing was spectacular. Will visit again

“Solid restaurant-traditional Italian pizza”

My Grandpa, being the Italian immigrant that he is, really enjoyed this place because of the pizza and because they had forks (learning chopsticks at 79 isn't all that easy). In my humble opinion, the crust of the pizza is very good, but the taste is a little bland (Margherita). Their pizza combos a...re more of the traditional Italian ilk, as I don't recall seeing any odd corn and mayo pizzas. Fortunately, for the Neopolitan raw ham and arucula (arugula) pizza they give you a wedge of lemon, which really brings out the umami flavor that I look for. (2) Neopolitan size pizzas for 4 adults felt like a satisfying but not heavy meal. They have red and white house wine, but requests for a chardonnay got us the long version of the wine menu which was all in Japanese and no one in the mood for drinking had the patience for me to slowly read to them. They also have a local "onsen" beers that are more expensive than most drinks. They have tiramisu, not the rum-soaked variety but still good. Service did not rush us along. They have a small parking lot, but this place is walking distance from Kinugawa Park Hotels. We ate here twice while we stayed in Kinugawa. It was a good break from Japanese cuisine. They have tables only, no floor style seating. We almost wanted to go for breakfast, to try more of their menu, but they open quite late. This was almost the only restaurant open late in Kinugawa on Sunday, not attached to an onsen.

“True Italian in a little Japanese town ”

Staying in Nikko after a week in Japan, we got a craving for pizza and wow did this deliver. It’s about a 30 minute drive from the main part of Nikko so a car is very useful, but the drive is nice. And the trip is so worth it. I had the ham, spinach and mozzarella calzone and it was as good as calzo...ne I’ve eaten in Italy. Real mozzarella, beautiful ham and spinach wrapped in a chewy, obviously handmade dough, cooked in a wood fireplace. A glass of quite decent white wine for ¥400 went very nicely. My daughter got a sardine, walnut and saffron pasta from the specials board that was packed with flavour, garlicky goodness and lovely white sardines. She had the peach & raspberry iced tea with it which was made in a vacuum container on top of a jug of ice. When released it was so fragrant you could smell it across the table. Finished with an affogato which was (rarity in Japan) REAL coffee on vanilla bean ice cream. Lovely staff and yes they do have an English menu! If this place was in Sydney I would go there. Total bill was ¥4300 which is very reasonable for this level of food. Be aware it’s a little hard to find - basically one house among others. Look out for the sign but there’s parking around the back. Bellissimo!
