“TAKASE grill in Ikebukuro”
The best Hamburg steak I’ve tasted . The ambience is a retro cafe that serves authentic Japanese yoshoku . Price is reasonable for wagyu beef dishes .

“It does the job”
Takase Ikebukuro Honten. If you need somewhere to sit and relax, do some work on your laptop for a while or to enjoy a light meal, this is good enough. They recently took out most of the larger tables so it is harder to sit together if you are in a group. People can and do move the tables togethe...r so that is not a problem. It is reasonably quiet most of the time. Their coffee is good. I have rarely eaten there. The food is mostly pretty good, apart from the sandwiches which are made from the typically tasteless fluffy white "shokupan" bread that many Japanese people prefer. It's nothing to write home about but it is better value than some. The prices are reasonable as well. I think some of the staff can manage basic English and the menus are in English as well as Japanese so it is not too hard to order if you don't speak Japanese.

“Amazing Bread of Life”
WOW, the breads are soooo delicious and authentic. I am glad I had visited this bakeshop, full of nice choices of bread and sweet pasties.. love to eat from their variety of foodies.

“Coffee break at Japanese old fashioned cafe”
The Takase is located in Ikebukuro. It's 1 min from Seibu department store in the East exit of JR line. The Takase building, on the 2nd and the 9th floors, they serve a variety of drinks and light foods. It's not something like trend cafe styles but Japanese old fashioned style you can enjoy.
