We ordered a wide variety of food, mostly bland or not great unfortunately. The staff were lovely and very helpful, and we may have just caught an off night though. Itemised reviews of food below: Onion pancake was very eggy (more like scrambled egg/omelette), with spring onions Hinepon ponzu chicke...n (bit dry, with crunchy fat along the edges) Deep fried tofu - tasty outer fried skin and tasty sauce, quite generous chunks of tofu Tofu hotpot - really soft (almost slimy) tofu, and lots of stringy seaweed and veg which was quite unpleasant/sloppy in texture. Flavour quite bland Herring - three small fish, quite good although tough/chewy (nice if you add the lemon) Cheese fishcakes - tasty, nice mix of melted cheese and crunchy breaded outer - though largely cheese (couldn't taste any fish) Edamame were good Pork kushikatsu (good but about a third was just fat) Yellowtail raw fish (nice and fresh, slightly crunchy which was unexpected but it's the first time any of us tried yellowtail!) Kamadama udon (soupy udon, decent taste, very soft noodles)

This bar looked good even though reviews were quite old. So glad we decided to visit it. Great atmosphere and mostly local people eating and drinking. An English menu that was a true translation of theJapanese menu. The guys at the table next to us were eating the same dish! Delicious food, great at...mosphere and good price. Perfect for the traveller who wants to explore the local food scene at a reasonable price

You walk into downstairs area with small bar area of about 8 seats ... best place to sit. Not a lot of English spoken but they have an English language menu you can select from. The food was very good ... try the local Himeji dishes .. all in one dish. Also try their hot pots ... delicious. We a...lso had the spicy dumplings .. very much like gyoza and very delicious. Try the kansai egg pancake as well...yum. Match your meal with chilled sake and you will mot be disappointed.

Good place, very typical Japanese food, nice atmosphere, Kind of Japanese Tapas Bar. Smokers are allowed to smoke inside!
