“A perfect bowl of Udon and Shrimp Tempura”
We told our guide that we wanted to eat Udon noodles and tempura. Our guide took us here for lunch. It was a quaint little restaurant where you sat on the floor overlooking a pretty garden. The Udon noodles were to die for and we never were able to find them as good as these throughout the rest of t...he trip. The shrimp tempura was light and fluffy and very good. We were very pleased with our lunch here and would highly recommend it.

“Skip it”
We looked for this place based on trip advisor reviews after visiting the temple. Overpriced, unfriendly service and average food. The chicken parts included in our udon were not identifiable. The tempura was good but then I had an upset stomach the rest of the night. This rated as our worst meal in... Japan.

“Bad service and expensive”
We feel like this place is too pricey for what it serves. The foods were okay, nothing special and tasty for the price. It was around $47 USD for 2 people. We've been to restaurants that are wayyyyyy better and yet cheaper. In addition, I was appalled by the service because it's the first restaurant... that we've been to here in Japan that has subpar service... I would recommend to stay away from this place

“delicious soba noodle lunch!”
As one of our few noodle meals, this was definitely a goo decision. It's apparently historic and our private tour guide took us here. Very traditional and non english speaking, but they do have pictures with English writing on the menu. Enjoy!

“Expensive Tourist place!”
The food wasn’t that great for me. May be I don’t have the flavour for authentic Japanese cuisine but this sure wasn’t good for me and my wife. It has a good location but is on the expensive side. 5000 for 2. The place has a small garden.
