“True way to enjoy tempura”
The menu is only in Japanese. There are sets for sampling or the Omakase/Chef's selection. We opted for the sampling sets. Highlights is when tempura was served and 4 varieties of flavoured salt given as dipping. The true way to enjoy tempura is to dip the piece in the radish soaked sauce then add a... trinkle of delicately flavoured salt to eat, put in your mouth & enjoy. It was thoroughly enjoyable & delicious.

“Specializing in Tempura”
This branch of the famed Shinjuku, Tokyo Tsunahachi tempura restaurant chain also presents hot, crisp tempura straight to your table. The location is on the 7th restaurant floor of Takashimaya Dept. Store located centrally on the southwest corner of Shijo St. and Kawaramachi St. You can sit at the c...ounter and watch the tempura preparation or be seated at tables. Either way, the tempura is served piping hot in two or three servings. Add the mound of grated daikon to the flavored sauce and dip the tempura to enjoy its crispy outside and flavorful inside. Four different salts are also stacked in containers on the table to be used for dipping instead of the sauce. I've never had bad tempura in Japan but Tsunahachi does it better.
