“Rip off”
Rip off. Rude and unfriendly staff. Taking advantage of tourists, should have walked out at the start. Don’t bother going.

“Horrible place”
Worse experience in our 3 week visit to wonderful Japan. The place was empty when we arrived, before even getting through the door we are presented with a notice saying there is a 550 yen charge per person just to sit down! 950 yen for a beer and no WiFi, there was a group of 6 came in but turned r...ound and left after being told the charge, absolutely crazy as the place was empty apart from us two, why turn away customers. The toilets where absolutely filthy and that is a first in Japan, there FREE snacks where abysmal. Horrible place.

“The least touristy bar in Shijo/Gion area”
Japan, 〒600-8011 Kyoto, Shimogyō-ku, Hashimotochō, 四条通小橋東入ル橋本町109, サピエンス四条木屋町ビル One of the nearest bars around my hotel (in Kinparo) in Shijo area, very near to Kanagawa River. No noisy tourists at all. Bar staff knows English. Specialty are Japanese whiskey highballs. Great atmosphere. You’d see m...ix of local salarymen, or young adults with their friends.

“Amazing bar! ”
As I was walking to an evening performance at the Gion Corner theater, I spied this bar! I thought wow a real bar! I should go back! Went to the performance, found a lovely restaurant about 600 m from here and ended back at the bar! Fabulous drinks, good attentive service and getting to hang with a ...local crowd! High class bar, excellent staff and the manager on duty was phenomal!!! My head and liver might not be as happy tomorrow! But, right now! Winning!

“Price System ”
As we entered the Highball Bar (Kyoto), the waitress quickly ran over to present us with a card (in English) with the title: “Our Price System”. As other reviewers have mentioned, the pricing system was for an additional 500 Yen per person. What was more interesting, we noticed that only non-Asian c...lientele entering were stopped to be given this card. Maybe I missed the signage in every other language stating the price system!!
