“Over priced and disappointing ”

We visited here on the last day of our trip. The restaurant decor was lovely and the staff were friendly but the food was really disappointing. It was our most expensive and most dining experiences so far in Japan. My husbands pizza was way undercooked and came with no tomato base? I checked the men...u again and no where did it say the pizza was a Blanco pizza (also it was Diavola which I've never been served before as a white pizza). I had pasta which was pretty standard and bland. The starters were fine, white wine was on the warm side. Over all for this meal it was around 1500yen which I wouldn't mind paying at all if the food was worth it.

“Great Italian food in Kyoto, who knew?”

A wonderful find in the middle of Kyoto. After several days in town, we were looking for Italian food. The reception team at our hotel recommended it, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The pizza was great, paper thin crust cooked in a wood burning oven. We had the margarita and it didn't disap...point. Tagliatelle with meat sauce was yummy, as was the pasta with cherry tomatoes, and basil. For dessert, chocolate cake, which was rich and creamy. The service was very friendly. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We're coming back tomorrow night!

“Third rate impersonation of Italian food”

Japan is a nightmare for vegetarians so when visiting I try to find Italian or Indian options and this restaurant was recommended by the concierge at the Granvia,Kyoto. Oh dear,I fear the concierge staff have never eaten at the place. I ordered seasonal vegetables and a Marinara pizza. The former tu...rned out to be an undressed salad. The latter a soup of tomatoes which utterly soaked the base. I sent it back and opted for the margarita which was equal sodden. Even the so called crust was soft with liquid . All in all,the worst pizza I have ever eaten. Nothing off the bill - naturally-and no one bothered to ask me what the problem was. They have also picked up the awful Italian ‘coperto’ charge habit which in Italy is sometimes forgivable if the bread is decent . The few pieces they offer here is unsalted white with oil but no balsamic. This is a third rate impersonation of an Italian restaurant. If you are indifferent to the quality of Italian food you might like this place. For people a little more discerning avid at all costs - literally.

“Terrible Italian Food! Terrible Service”

The menu is simple, the Diablo’s Pizza is absolutely terrible! The 4 cheese pizza is absolutely amazing the Marguerite pizza is stupid and terribly bad, the Buffalo Mozarella is old and grainy and I can taste it’s not fresh stock. We didn’t try the pasta. Service was absolutely pathetic! We sat do...wn Quickly ordered some beer, some sake and some wine and water And waited for 17mins And then I raised my hand and asked for water The server said sorry And got us water Our drinks came out more than 25mins later The pizza was just terrible Just absolutely terrible I have had better pizza at a cheap dominos Their Diavola has so much chicken, no cheese and so little ham Tastes like crap! Pizza took at least 45mins to get to our table This place is ideal For tourists Who might be tired of dining at local Japanese restaurants Also for tourists who want a break from the local cuisine It’s a tourist trap The service is terrible! The food sucks! I mean it’s definitely not Italian food! It’s something else There are much better pizza places in Kyoto If it’s only pizza you want Better not wait for 45mins (just 1 oven) Better to visit a place which is quicker And CAN MAKE A PIZZA This is not pizza This is crap!

“It could have been better”

We had a hard time finding a recommended local restaurant on the same street and by the time we found it, it was fully booked and we were so tired and hungry that we popped in to Salvatore. I remembered a glowing review about a certain pizza but my partner wanted a less extravagant pizza. So we had ...a very boring pizza with little cheese and boring tomato sauce. One of the worst I've ever had. Service was fine and the location on the couch outside next to a narrow canal was lovely.
