“The WORST!”

1
Reviewed 21/Jan/2026

The worst dining experience in the past several years in Japan. I go to Japan twice a year and eat out every night so we’re talking about the worst among over 200 restaurants. I usually don't eat pizza in Japan as I know it is one of the few things they don't do well. But on this evening, their te...rrace facing the Takase River looked so inviting and after all, it is a well known chain, so I thought why not? Haha, huge mistake. The pizza was tasteless, the wine was mediocre and everything was way over priced for what they offer. On top of that, they have hidden seat charges. There is no sign or verbal communication about this charge. You only discover it when you get a bill. Even then, they don't tell you unless asked. Avoid this restaurant at all costs.

Nice restaurant and location. We were a oarty of 4 and had pizzas. Taste is good but the dough is not crispy and rather soggy. Service could get some improvements.

“Over priced and disappointing ”

We visited here on the last day of our trip. The restaurant decor was lovely and the staff were friendly but the food was really disappointing. It was our most expensive and most dining experiences so far in Japan. My husbands pizza was way undercooked and came with no tomato base? I checked the men...u again and no where did it say the pizza was a Blanco pizza (also it was Diavola which I've never been served before as a white pizza). I had pasta which was pretty standard and bland. The starters were fine, white wine was on the warm side. Over all for this meal it was around 1500yen which I wouldn't mind paying at all if the food was worth it.

“Great Italian food in Kyoto, who knew?”

A wonderful find in the middle of Kyoto. After several days in town, we were looking for Italian food. The reception team at our hotel recommended it, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The pizza was great, paper thin crust cooked in a wood burning oven. We had the margarita and it didn't disap...point. Tagliatelle with meat sauce was yummy, as was the pasta with cherry tomatoes, and basil. For dessert, chocolate cake, which was rich and creamy. The service was very friendly. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We're coming back tomorrow night!
