Shava liva

This restaurant is branded as "Italian", but the dishes have a creative Japanese interpretation. I tried the 6 course set menu, which I enjoyed a lot. It did test my patience, the service is very slow. I overheard another table complaining as well. The price is very reasonable, so if you don't mind ...a wait, this is much recommended.

Monday night and besides us only 1 table. Service was friendly and prompt and the food quite ok I have to say. We had the garlic bread and Caprese for starters and then the braised beef and Pasta Carbonara. Cheesecake for dessert. Portions could be a bit bigger though. Only really bad point: I had ...wine by the glass and the bottle of red wine has been opened 4 days ago (they usually note that date on the backside label)!!!

Found this centrally located restaurant in Kyoto while searching for something familiar, and after finding our hotel (which had several restaurants) couldn't satisfy us. We were a little concerned at first by the fact that we were among few diners, but that was quickly overcome. Service was friend...ly with plenty of quite reasonable English (certainly much better than our Japanese) the food was very tasty and fresh (we had what was effectively the tasting menu) and the restaurant was reasonably quiet. The wait staff went out of their way to ensure their clients are happy and we certainly were. Quite reasonably priced it proved to be excellent value. Well worth a go for weary travellers looking for an alternative to the usual Japanese fare!

Well it was a Monday evening. Yes it was quiet, so a little worrying but the food was very good. Garlic bread was a far too small but copious amounts of fried potatoes (UK chips). Steak dishes were superb, best to reserve a few chips to soak up the marvelous juices. Clean plates all round! One very ...little negative relates to the music, which was sometimes inappropriate and generally a tad too loud. But I quite liked this place, it's reasonably priced with friendly staff, I really can't see why this restaurant is not more populated. It's certainly worth a try.

It was very quiet when we arrived at 22:00 on a Sunday, and we ended up being the only ones there. The service was friendly and prompt, which would be expected on a slow Sunday night. The food quality was good, and we enjoyed caprese salad, prosciutto, mussels, and pasta, with a glass of wine. We fo...und the prices to be quite reasonable. The atmosphere was attractive and modern. Overall we were quite pleased.
